Flannels work nicely too. Or any cute children's print. The finished size of these is bigger than your store bought receiving blankets.

July is definitely in full swing, and with many of the new Christmas fabrics available, it's definitely time to start thinking about...well...Christmas in July! Remember to think outside the box when assembling fabrics for Christmas projects. The stockings below (pattern is "Mini Stockings" by Fig Tree & Company) were made without using a single "Christmas" fabric. Joanna Figueroa put together some wonderful bundles using Fig Tree, Sweetwater, and even some Urban Chiks fabrics.
